The best learning involves lots of time for creativity and play! Our kids workshops let children explore code through art, music, games and story-telling. Our teacher training workshops give educators the tools they need to inspire kids with code.




Astro Pi

Type: Kids Workshop

“Astro Pi is an annual science and coding competition where student-written code is run on the International Space Station! No special hardware is needed to take part, and your code is guaranteed to run in space for 30 seconds!”

Code Club Canada, Kids Code Jeunesse, science centres, and museums across Canada are inviting kids aged 10 to 12, to sign up for for Astro Pi in teams of two. The teams who complete their Python projects in Trinket are guaranteed to have their code run on the International Space Station!

“Hour of code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts.”

As part of this year's Hour of Code, Kids Code Jeunesse will be offering free 2-hour coding workshops across Canada! These workshops will invite children to create a simple game with the micro:bit, a fun, interactive, and hands-on pocket-sized, codeable computer that allows you to get creative with code! Explore the world of code and exercise your critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity with us!
