Score a Global Goal in 5 minutes or less!

Using a sticky note + a pen, can you invent a solution to achieve a Global Goal?
Two winners will receive a class set of Climate Action Kits and 10 micro:bit Go Packs!

  • Choose a Global Goal, grab a sticky note, and get innovating! Draw a realistic solution or invention that you think could help the world meet one of the UN’s Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
  • The competition launches Tuesday, January 28th, 2020. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, February 11th, 2020 at 11:59pm EST.
  • All entries must be submitted on Twitter.
  • To enter, participants must include the following in a Tweet:
    • Share the image of their invention and the global goal they’re solving.
    • Tag @kidscoding.
    • Use the hashtag #ScoreAGlobalGoal.
  • Entries can be written in French or English.
  • All entries must be affiliated with a Canadian elementary or secondary school.
  • KCJ will select 2 winners, who have applied creative and innovative thinking to one of the real-world problems the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals seek to address. Each winner will receive a classroom set of Climate Action Kits (5 kits) and 10 micro:bit Go Packs. Total prize value: $463.45.
  • Winners will be contacted via Twitter on Thursday, February 13th, 2020 at 12:00pm EST.
    Winner must respond within 5 business days, correctly answering a skill-testing math question and providing a valid mailing address (of their affiliated Canadian elementary or secondary school), in order to claim their prize.
  • Prizes will be shipped by KCJ and will only be delivered to a valid Canadian elementary or secondary school address.
  • Any employee of Kids Code Jeunesse and the persons with whom they are domiciled may not enter the contest.
  • Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
