Stuff included and why it’s there.
Arm
The mechanical hand on the arm opens to gather samples of moon rocks, dust, and other highly informational items to bring back to the moon base. It made of a titanium aluminium alloy, because it is strong and heat resistant.
Fusion powered battery
This is the main source of energy to power the rover. It is inside the main body of the rover to protect the battery from excessive wear and tear. It is fusion-powered because it is a clean source of energy. There has also been recent advances in that specific area, with fusion generating a net positive of energy.
Solar panels
The solar panels act as an extra source of energy in case the battery runs out mid-expedition. These solar panels are made from silicon and the support pillars are made from titanium aluminum alloy just like the arm.
Wheels
The wheels adjust to the different terrain of the moon's surface, allowing the rover in and out of craters and to go anywhere to collect the artifact the camera identified.
Ultrasonic sensors
The ultrasonic sensors are used to help the rover not hit any rocks, debris, or other items that could be damaging to the rover. It is made of piezoelectric crystals and nickel-ferric aluminum alloy.
Camera
The camera is how the control base will know where the moon rover is. The camera is made from high-stiffness carbon fiber reinforced thermoplastic, polycarbonate compound containing 10-20% glass fiber, and optical lenses.
Infrared sensor
The infrared sensor is able to remember the path the rover took and reverse it so that it can follow the same path back to the moon base. This is helpful for when the rover is full of artifacts. The sensors are made from pyroelectric material, infrared filters, and fresnel lenses.
Antenna
The antenna allows for the rover to communicate with the moon base and even to earth. Communication is important because if the moon rover ever gets stuck or runs into a problem, it will be able to let the command stations know so that they can resolve the issue. The antenna is made out of aluminium because it can conduct electromagnetic waves.
Storage
The storage container stores the samples and artifacts that the arm picks up. It had sensors to detect how full the container is. When the storage unit is full of samples and artifacts it will head back to the moon base for scientists and/or astronauts to inspect. The storage container is made of tempered glass, however the back is made from an opaque material as that is where the AI controlling the opening hatch is. It also prevents any damage from occurring due to misplaced objects picked up by the arm. This allows the people on the base to see how full the rover is at a glance.
