"The point of 5687-Explorer is to drive around whatever planet it’s on, and take measurements and readings.
AI: The rover will drive around with its sensors and some help from the little rovers inside. The camera arm will detect an object in front and tell the rover to back up and go around. If the rover finds anything to collect or measure, it will pick it up. There are also many sensors scattered around the rover to tell it if there’s an object to the side or behind as well.
Mini-rovers:
There are three different rovers with different purposes. The first has cameras and sensors that film and detect objects. The second has a mini claw to pick up small objects. It also has a few cameras and sensors as well to sense its surroundings. The third has a little claw to pick objects as well as a few sensors to sense potential water and much more.
Body:
The rover has a hard titanium shell with many components on the inside. There is a rechargeable battery so it can’t run out of battery. It also has a really cool rock sorter, so any rocks that it collects, it will sort. There is the rover station where the mini rovers are stored, and a communications disk to make sure it can communicate. Finally, the arms on the rover allow it to pick up all that it finds and put it in the retractable bin to then be sorted."
